As a respected literature professor, Elizabeth was affectionately known as “Mother Cornell” because of her distinguished tenure. She taught at Cornell College for 35 years and was honored with the title of Professor of English Emerita in 1983. She wrote a variety of published and unpublished pieces of literature and was considered a scholar of Robert Frost. in addition, Elizabeth was a world traveler and an accomplished musician. After retirement, she continued to promote poetry, literature, and music in her retirement community.
